Soochipara Waterfalls is located 22 kms south of Kalpetta and is situated near Meppadi. Situated amid dense forests, the three-forked fall hits the sharp spikes of granite at the base and hence the name Soochipara or needle rocks. Here you can find nature at its best. To reach the falls visitors have to trek for around 2 kms through the dense equatorial forest of Wayanad. Soochipara is a three-tiered, powerful waterfall and cascade down from a height of around 100 to 300 feet. Here you can enjoy water-rafting, swimming, and bathing in the pool below. And the cliff face here is ideal for rock climbing. You will also find tree-top huts from which you can have a spectacular view of the valleys of the western ghats and the glimmering shallow waters of the springs around. There is another waterfall near Soochipara called the Sentinal Rock waterfall which is 22 kms from Soochipara near Meppadi, south of Kalpetta. It is a three-step waterfall of more than 200 ms in height with a fantastic scenery.
