DAY 1: COCHIN (KOCHI) - MUNNAR
Once you arrive at Cochin, you will be met by our representative and transferred to the picturesque township of Munnar, famous for tea estates. Located 1,600 metres above the sea level, this hill station is a slice of India’s historic past: this was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British government in south India. Sprawling tea plantations, picture-perfect towns, winding lanes and holiday facilities make this a popular holiday destination. Once you check in at a hotel for a two-night stay, you have the rest of the day to spend as you wish.
DAY 2: SIGHTSEEING AT MUNNAR
After a sumptuous breakfast, you will begin the day’s itinerary with a sightseeing trip that covers the verdant Eravikulam National Park, the natural habitat of the local ibex, the Nilgiri Tahr. Once you’ve had your fill, it’s on to the Mattupetty dam, Echo Point and the rest of the town. Then head back to the hotel for an overnight stay.
DAY 3: MUNNAR - THEKKADY
After breakfast, you have a busy day of travel ahead of you. Today, you will leave for Thekkady, the venue of the famous Periyar (Thekkady) Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the most well-maintained wildlife sanctuaries of south India. Spread out over an area of 777 sq km, the sanctuary boasts of a splendid artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar dam across the Periyar river, which adds to the charm of the park. This is the only sanctuary in India where you can have the unique experience of viewing wildlife at close quarters as you cruise along the lake in the confines of a boat. Once you reach, check in at hotel for the night, sop you have the afternoon free to enjoy that boat ride on Periyar lake. Otherwise you can opt for a short trek into the fragrant spice plantations. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 4: THEKKADY - KUMARAKOM
Post breakfast, you check out and to Kumarakom, located on the banks of the Vembanad lake, with its majestic canals, streams and tributaries. Nature dons her best colours in this ecologically rich location. The bird sanctuary here is an ornithologist’s paradise and a favorite haunt of migratory birds. Check in at Hotel for an overnight stay and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
DAY 5: KUMARAKOM - COCHIN
Check out and drive to Cochin. One of the finest natural harbours on the Arabian Sea coast, Cochin, has been a port of call for foreign traders from early times. Its cosmopolitan character is reflected in the buildings and structures representing different regions of the world. A city of peninsulas and islands, today it is Kerala’s commercial hub. Afternoon, sightseeing of Fort Cochin covering Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church, Dutch Palace & Chinese Fishing Net.
DAY 6: COCHIN Leave to make it in time to transfer to the Cochin Airport to connect your onward flight.
