The Malik Dinar Mosque is located at Thalangana in Kasargod. Kasargod is the centre of Islam on the west coast. The Malik Dinar Mosque is believed to have been founded by Malik Ibn Dinar. The mosque or the Juma Masjid is one of the best kept and most attractive in the district. Malik Ibn Dinar, a slave’s son, was an ardent disciple of Prophet Mohamed. He was the initiator of Islam propagation in Kerala. The body of Ibn Dinar was buried within the Mosque and so the place is sacred to Muslims. There is annual Uroos festival which is celebrated to commemorate the arrival of Malik Dinar in Kasargod. The Uroos attracts pilgrims from all over India in thousands.
