St Mary's Orthodox Church is located at Kallada in Kollam District. It is located at a distance of 320 kms from Kollam town. This famous Syrian Orthodox church is several centuries old. The church has been reconstructed around four times but still retains the wood-work from older version of the Church.

This church also symbolizes the harmonious religious co-existence in Kerala. There is a 700 year old beam of wood which bears a Muslim Crescent, a Hindu symbol and the Christian symbol which is the Cross. The shrine also displays the inscription, “In sacred memory of Mar Andrews, a prelate from Jerusalem who arrived in Kerala in 1678 … died in 1692. Here he lies entombed, enshrined.”
